The ASRock H270M-ITX-ac in detail

The ASRock H270M-ITX-ac offers two DIMM slots for DDR4 memory in the fast dual-channel mode as a mini ITX motherboard with Intels H270 chipset for the 6000 and 7000 series processors. Up to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM can be accommodated in total, and depending on the processor, the motherboard is compatible with DDR4 RAM with a clock speed of 2.133 MHz (with Skylake CPU) or DDR4-2.400 (with Kaby Lake CPU). In addition, the motherboard has a PCIe-x16 slot, which is connected to the chipset with full 16 lanes and thus supports powerful graphics cards.

For the connection of data carriers, the board provides an M.2 slot for extra fast NVE-M.2 SSDs as well as six SATA-6G connections (including RAID support) for 3.5 or 2.5 Hard disks or SSDs are available. The M.2 ports are connected to the chipset via four PCIe lanes in the 3.0 standard and, in combination with the NVMe protocol, enable a data transfer rate of just under 4 GB / s. Thus, M.2 PCIe SSDs are up to eight times faster than SATA 6G SSDs!

On the I / O panel, the motherboard has six USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports for input devices, headsets, and other gaming peripherals. In addition to the two Gigabit LAN ports, the board also has a WiFi module that supports the fast ac standard as well as Bluetooth. If no graphics card is available, the integrated graphics processor of a Skylake or Kaby Lake CPU can be used to connect monitors directly to the back of the motherboard – with DVI-D and 2 x HDMI, three connections are available.

Internally, the motherboard also provides a TPM and chassis intrusion header as well as a 4-pin CPU FAN connector, a 4-pin header for a PWM fan or pump, and a front panel audio connector.
