The Thermal Grizzly DeltaMate GPU water block is designed for enthusiasts looking to maximise the cooling performance of their ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090. Combining a massive nickel-plated copper cooling assembly with a black anodised aluminium housing, Schott BOROFLOAT® glass viewing window and integrated addressable RGB lighting, the DeltaMate delivers both premium performance and exceptional presentation.

Massive copper dual coldplate design

The cooling performance of the DeltaMate GPU Block – ROG Astral RTX 5090 Glass is primarily achieved through its optimised coolant flow and substantial copper cooling assembly.

The cooler consists of two separately manufactured coldplates secured together. A smaller Ultra-High-Performance Core Coldplate makes direct contact with the GPU die, while the larger VRM/VRAM Coldplate provides targeted cooling for the graphics memory and voltage regulation components.

The VRM/VRAM Coldplate alone weighs over 1,100 grams and is CNC-milled from high-quality copper. It is precision-blasted to produce a uniform surface before the VRAM and VRM contact areas undergo an additional CNC machining process for optimal thermal transfer. The finished copper components are then nickel-plated.

The dedicated Core Coldplate is also fully CNC-machined and features a high-density microfin structure with a 0.2 mm slot width, 0.2 mm fin width and 2.5 mm fin height. This provides a Core Coldplate surface area of approximately 21,009 mm² for highly efficient heat transfer.

Schott BOROFLOAT® glass and ARGB lighting

A defining feature of the Glass edition is its premium Schott BOROFLOAT® borosilicate glass viewing window.

The water block incorporates a strip of 14 individually addressable RGB LEDs within its black anodised aluminium housing. Lighting is controlled through a standard 3-pin 5V ARGB motherboard connection and illuminates the glass window from within.

Unlike acrylic, borosilicate glass refracts the integrated RGB lighting differently, giving the block a distinctive appearance. The edges of the BOROFLOAT® glass are hand-polished after being waterjet cut to enhance this effect further.

BOROFLOAT® glass also offers excellent UV resistance and significantly improved scratch resistance compared with acrylic, while being less susceptible to damage from alcohol-based cleaning products.

“The Oracle” PCB

The DeltaMate includes Thermal Grizzly’s integrated spacer PCB known as “The Oracle”, precisely shaped to match the PCB of the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090.

This allows the position and fit of the water block to be checked before dismantling the graphics card, making it easier to plan the layout of a custom water-cooling loop.

The Oracle also acts as an installation template, clearly identifying screw and thermal pad positions. After installing the water block, it can even be used as a template when reassembling the original air cooler for storage.

Modular terminal design

The DeltaMate GPU Block is supplied with the pre-installed brass Direct Terminal. This provides one inlet and one outlet using standard G1/4-inch threads, positioned towards the front of the case when installed in a conventional ATX system.

For more complex loop layouts, the separately available DeltaMate Through Terminal can be fitted instead, providing additional inlet and outlet positions on the top and bottom of the block for a total of four ports.

Thermal materials included

Everything required for thermal interface preparation is supplied with the block, including TG Duronaut thermal paste, TG Putty Advance and multiple thicknesses of TG Minus Pad Advance and TG Minus Pad High Compression.

The DeltaMate GPU Block requires installation and is recommended for experienced custom water-cooling users. Modifying a graphics card with an aftermarket water block may affect the manufacturer’s warranty.
