ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-Plus, AMD B550 motherboard - Socket AM4

The B550 chipset is the heart of the ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-PLUS motherboard and has been specifically optimized for Ryzen 3000 series Matisse and 5000 series Vermeer CPUs. B550 motherboards support all features of third- and fourth-generation Ryzen processors, most notably the PCI Express standard version 4.0 (PCIe 4.0). PCIe 4.0 is backward compatible and can be used with all expansion cards from previous generations. Additionally, the motherboards support up to 128 GB of RAM with a guaranteed clock speed of 3,200 MHz. Depending on the motherboard, significantly higher clock speeds are possible with overclocking. The B550 chipset also allows processor overclocking.

The ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-PLUS is a Micro-ATX motherboard and features a A PCI Express 4.0 slot with full x16 connectivity plus a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot with four lanes for graphics cards. The motherboard provides a PCIe 3.0 x1 slot for additional expansion cards. The four RAM banks support up to 128 GB of DDR4 memory with a clock speed of up to 3,200 MHz and can even handle clock speeds of up to 4,400 MHz via overclocking.

The AM4 motherboard provides two M.2 slots. One slot is connected to the processor via four PCI Express lanes and supports PCIe 4.0 and SATA 6G for drives up to 80 mm long (2280). The second M.2 slot is connected to the chipset via four PCI Express lanes and supports PCIe 3.0 and SATA 6G for drives up to 110 mm long (22110 mm). Four SATA 6G connectors are also provided.

Modern Ports and RGB LED Lighting
The ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-PLUS features one USB 3.1 Type-C port, one USB 3.1 Type-A port, four USB 3.0 Type-A ports, and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports on the I/O panel. An HDMI and a DisplayPort port are available for CPUs with integrated graphics. The motherboard also features a standard PS/2 port for a keyboard or mouse.

This B550 motherboard also offers features such as a 2.5 Gigabit LAN port (Realtek RTL8125B), on-board sound (Realtek ALC S1200A audio codec), a reinforced PCIe slot, and numerous internal headers. Other features include overclocking features, diagnostic LEDs (ASUS Q-LED), an optimized power supply, and a BIOS Flashback button on the I/O panel.

A special feature of the ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-PLUS is its RGB lighting, which can be synchronized with other RGB components via the manufacturers software. The motherboard features two 4-pin RGB headers and one 3-pin RGB header. Furthermore, six fans can be connected directly to the board.
