A 19-inch rack is a standardized plug housing for accommodating several modules, the front panels of which are 19 inches wide. The Silverstone SST-RM400 rackmount server chassis has eight 3.5-inch, two 2.5-inch and three 5.25-inch bays. In addition, an external 5.25-inch SlimLine drive or a 2.5-inch data storage device can be installed. With its extensive space for storage drives, the SST-RM400 is ideal for file servers.
Silverstone has also thought of dissipating the heat generated during continuous operation. A 120-millimeter fan can be attached to each of the two 3.5-inch cages to enable direct cooling of the installed hard drives. Two 80 millimeter fans can also be attached to the rear. A 120 on the front and an 80 fan on the back of the housing are included in the delivery, so that fresh air supply and heat dissipation are ensured. Filters on the front prevent dust from entering. The front door is lockable.
Main boards in Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX, ATX or SSI-CEB format can be installed on the mainboard carrier. The housing has seven full-height expansion slots. Graphics cards can be up to 22 centimeters long, if you remove a drive cage, there is up to 33.9 centimeters of space. A maximum height of 148 millimeters is provided for processor coolers.
