The SilverStone SST-AR09-1700 offered here is an extremely compact tower cooler with three cleverly arranged heat pipes with a diameter of 6 mm each, which is suitable for 2U rack mounts or cases with a small form factor. Embedded in the base, the heat pipes transport the waste heat into the 8.8 cm wide and 6.6 cm high radiator block. A seven-blade 60 mm fan with plain bearings ensures a decent air flow of up to 47.4 m³/h at full speed of 5,000 rpm and does not produce more than 42.5 dB(A). However, it can also operate very quietly – throttled by pulse width modulation – when it shovels air at just 1,200 rpm with just over 18.02 dB(A).
