Reservoirs provide water cooling a storage depot in order to compensate for the natural shrinkage of the cooling liquid, for example in the form of diffusion through the tubing and to prevent air bubbles in the circulation, which could in turn lead to increased noise from the pump.
In addition to these purely practical aspects of reservoir can also set visual highlights.Acrylic tubes are especially suitable for this purpose because they provide with their transparent appearance modding various ways (lighting, colored liquids, etc.). This is a model of Bitspower with two screw POM lids. These are sealed with two rubber bands over the acrylic tube. This is comparable to thick and very stable. The upper lid of the normally vertically installed expansion tank has a single 1/4 inch thread.
Of particular interest: On the inside of the inlet opens into three separate openings that are aligned laterally. This ensures a real eye-catcher, when the upper port is used as feed and the water flows into three separate beams against the acrylic material.
The lower lid has POM contrast, three 1/4 inch thread. One of these openings is connected to an internal flow tube. This is used as feed, when inlet and outlet are both out of the bottom of the reservoir. The feed is on the other hand from the top should, as a drain one of the other two openings are in use, since the height of water below the level of Störmungsrohres otherwise air is drawn.
The reservoir there are two plugs in, with which each of the two unused openings sealed. One such plug is transparent and can accommodate an optional lighting kit, which effective light mods can be realized.
