ASUS Prime B550-Plus motherboard, socket AM4, AMD B550, ATX, DDR4

The B550 chipset is the heart of the ASUS Prime B550-PLUS motherboard and has been specifically optimized for the Ryzen 3000 series Matisse and 5000 series Vermeer CPUs. B550 motherboards support all features of the third and fourth generation Ryzen processors, most notably the PCI Express standard version 4.0 (PCIe 4.0). PCIe 4.0 is backward compatible and can be used with all expansion cards from previous generations. The motherboards also support up to 128 GB of RAM with a guaranteed clock speed of 3,200 MHz. Depending on the motherboard, significantly higher clock speeds are possible with overclocking. The B550 chipset also allows for processor overclocking.

The features of the ASUS Prime B550-PLUS in detail:
The ASUS Prime B550-PLUS is an ATX motherboard and features a PCI Express 4.0 slot with full x16 connectivity plus a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot with four lanes for graphics cards. The motherboard provides three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots for additional expansion cards. The four RAM banks support up to 128 GB of DDR4 memory with a clock speed of up to 3,200 MHz and can even handle clock speeds of up to 4,800 MHz when overclocked.

The AM4 motherboard provides two M.2 slots. One slot is connected to the processor via four PCI Express lanes and supports PCIe 4.0 and SATA 6G for drives up to 110 mm long (22110). The second M.2 slot is connected to the chipset via four PCI Express lanes and supports PCIe 3.0 and SATA 6G for drives up to 110 mm long (22110). In addition, six SATA 6G connectors are provided.

Modern ports and support for Aura Sync
The ASUS Prime B550-PLUS features one USB 3.1 Type-C port, one USB 3.1 Type-A port, four USB 3.0 Type-A ports, and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports on the I/O panel. An HDMI port and a DisplayPort port are available for CPUs with integrated graphics.

This B550 motherboard also offers features such as a Gigabit LAN port (Realtek RTL8111H), on-board sound (Realtek ALC 887 audio codec), a reinforced PCIe slot for the graphics card, and numerous internal headers. Overclocking features and diagnostic LEDs are also included.

The ASUS Prime B550-PLUS supports the control and synchronization of RGB LED accessories with ASUS Aura Sync. The motherboard also features two 4-pin RGB headers and one 3-pin RGB header. Additionally, six fans can be connected directly to the board.
