The NH-C14S is an evolution of C14 designs. For both it is top-down coolers especially recommend accordingly if high cooling capacity to be connected to low height, or a particularly strong ventilation on the side panel is available. However, the C14S links these aspects still significantly more consistent than its predecessor. The S-model reaches with its single 140-Millilmeter fan comparable cooling performance as its predecessor, which it needs two fans.
The fan position can be freely selected so that the NH-C14S caused significantly less space problems. In more general cases, the fan on the radiator in Top-Blow arrangement is installed, so that under the radiator memory modules with up to 65 millimeters height have space. If the suction fan is mounted below the cooling surface, the height of the entire radiator is only 115 millimeters. A fundamental advantage of all the top-down models, regardless of which fan assembly remains intact: good cooling of the motherboard components, since the air flow in contrast to tower models is directed directly to the board.
As with all Noctua coolers the build quality is outstanding. While other manufacturers make the joints between heat pipes and fins of plug connections, these are soldered at Noctua. This guarantees optimal heat transfer and durability. The optics of the heat sink shows the exemplary high quality.
Same is with the supplied NF-A14 PWM fan which convince with impressive characteristics and could be adjusted as required using the supplied adapter to the individual needs. At full speed the A14 PWM moves at 1,500 rpm 140.2 cubic meter of air, let through the enclosed low-noise adapter for voltage reduction or control with PWM signal significantly throttle speed and volume. The minimum speed is 300 revolutions per minute – subjectively almost silently!
Thanks to flexible SecuFirm2 mounting system compatibility is assured with virtually all current sockets. Thermal paste included.
