The GIGABYTE TRX50 Aero D in detail:
The GIGABYTE TRX50 Aero D is one of the workstation motherboards for AMDs Ryzen Threadripper 7000 CPUs and offers a wealth of features for the desktop workstation platform. The combination of the sTR5 socket and the TRX50 chipset is required for the Threadripper 7000 series prosumer processors to support their numerous business and professional features.

Other key features of the GIGABYTE TRX50 Aero D motherboard include a Wi-Fi/BT module (Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 QCNCM865, 802.11be) and two LAN ports with 2.5 and 10 Gbps each (Marvell AQtion AQC113C, Realtek 2.5GbE). For audio, the manufacturer relies on the Realtek ALCALC4080 audio codec. This provides two 3.5mm jacks on the I/O panel.

Ports for every need
The motherboard has two USB 4 ports. These always come in the form of a USB Type-C port and achieve a maximum data transfer rate of 40 Gbps. One also supports DisplayPort. The I/O panel also features four USB 3.1 Type-A ports. USB 3.1 or USB 3.2 Gen 2 achieves maximum speeds of 10 Gbps per port.

The I/O panel also offers four USB-A 3.0 ports with a maximum transfer rate of 5.0 Gbps. Internally, the motherboard offers a USB 3.2 Type-C port for modern PC cases. Furthermore, two USB 3.0 ports (one header) and four USB 2.0 ports (two headers) are provided.

Expansion Slots and Drive Connectors
For expansion cards and expansion cards, the E-ATX motherboard provides two PCIe x16 slots in the 5.0 standard and one with the PCIe 5.0 standard. Three M.2 slots are provided for connecting storage devices such as SSDs and hard drives, each with four PCI Express 5.0 lanes and one with PCIe 4.0 directly connected to the CPU. There are also eight SATA 6G connectors.
Note:
TRX50 motherboards are only compatible with AMD Threadripper 7000 series processors. The sTR5 (SP6) socket differs from other Threadripper sockets due to a different pin assignment and is not compatible with older Threadripper CPUs or all CPUs in the Threadripper 7000 Pro series!

Note: Due to the size of the Ryzen Threadripper CPU, the sTR5 (SP6) socket differs significantly from conventional sockets. When installing the CPU, please carefully follow the instructions in the CPU or motherboard installation manual! This is an LGA socket! The pins are located on the socket, not the CPU.
