Corsair Builder Series CX450M Modular PSU - 450 Watt

The Builder Series there is an ideal range for the construction of low cost, yet efficient systems. As the name says it all. The power supplies come in various configurations, from entry-level device with 450 watts for powerful variant with 850 watts. There are power supplies in each case in a modular version and in a version with permanently installed cables.

The design of the power cars and in this case the CX450M is discreet, completely black and fits seamlessly into the interior. At the bottom works a big 120-mm fan and ensures outstanding cooling performance with low volume. The fan has this an automatic speed adjustment according to the power supply temperature and a double slide bearing for particularly uniform and smooth running.

For this also ensures the high efficiency of at most 85 percent, which was certified by 80Plus Bronze Seal. Thus, the power supply is very efficient, so little waste heat is produced and at the same time the power consumption is minimized – a blessing in times constantly rising energy costs. The ATX 2.4- and EPS 2.92 standards of the power supply also provides a comprehensive hardware compatibility.

With 450 watts the power supply for various applications is suitable. Unlike most other manufacturers, Corsair is not to split 12V rails, but on one single rail, which is particularly strong for dimensioned – in this case with 37.4 A current and 448.8 watts. This also hungry CPUs and graphics cards are supplied.

To this end, there is a 20 + 4-pin and a 4 + 4-pin motherboard connector and two 6 + 2-pin PCIe connectors available. For drives and Co. the power supply includes four SATA, four 4-pin Molex and one floppy connector has. All connections to the motherboard connectors are designed in a modular and sufficiently long so that the hardware can also be housed in large enclosures.
