This is particularly useful if the motherboard does not have a corresponding M.2 slot or if these are already occupied. The adapter allows the use of single- and double-sided SSDs in x16, x8 and x4 slots.
The PCI Express bus supplies the PCEM2-XS directly with power, so no external power source is required. Heat-conducting plates and copper-plated ventilation openings help to better dissipate the waste heat generated by the M.2 SSD under load. An LED display provides information about the connection and data transfer.
