The included thermal pads ensure optimal contact between the cooler and your SSD. They absorb the heat efficiently and transfer it to the heat sink. This means that your SSD not only runs more stable, but also more efficiently. Thermal throttling, the temperature-related throttling of the drive, is thus prevented.
