The single version offered here for a 120 mm fan on each side comes with aluminum fins inside the stainless steel frame and is crossed by two rows of copper tubes. The airplex radical 2/120 is only 40 mm high and is therefore compatible with many installation locations. It can carry a 120mm fan on one side out of the box. If it is intended to be equipped on both sides, 4 optionally available threaded inserts (M3) must be purchased.
The airplex radical series is based on the experience that aqua computer was able to gain in the development of the airplex modularity series (AMS), whereby a lot of things were reduced to the essentials for the airplex radical models. This created an exceptionally high-quality radiator with an incredible price-performance ratio. Like the AMS brothers, the airplex radical heat exchangers do not have any solder connections and are therefore free of tin residue when delivered. Only Delrin, stainless steel and copper come into contact with the coolant – even in the variants with aluminum fins.
For perfect fan assembly, aqua computer has come up with a new system with high-quality threaded sleeves made of nickel-plated brass. This patented system is designed so that the nuts protrude into the fan holes, causing them to virtually fall into the correct position by themselves. Anyone who has ever mounted fans on a radiator will appreciate this! The system also has the advantage that the thread is lengthened and the screw is further away from the slats, so that the risk of a screw being screwed in too far is greatly reduced.
When installing a radiator without a fan, the sleeves can also be rotated by 180 degrees so that the heat exchanger can be installed in a housing cover without a gap, for example. If a thread becomes damaged, you can simply replace the defective sleeve with a new one. Small locking lugs are also integrated into the guides for the sleeves so that the sleeves lock securely into the end position on the frame. This is made of stainless steel and as a color accent the rear end panel is made of dark chromated stainless steel.
