While the Sugo enclosures are different in terms of motherboard form factor from model to model, Silverstone SG12 remembers when the roots to SG01 and relies on motherboards in the format Micro-ATX. Instead of a specific, smaller power supply, the Sugo SG12 standard ATX power supplies takes on despite shoebox-size what the choice of components designed more versatile. In terms of graphics performance fans compact housing must also not compromise: with a maximum length of more than 36 centimeters has the SG12 even more space than the SG01 at 30.4 cm. Even high-end cards fit smoothly and seamlessly into the compact housing. Thanks to micro-ATX format and thus four expansion slots even lush cooling solutions Sugo users make not an impossible task.

Speaking of cooling performance: Especially in small enclosures the fresh air supply is often problematic. As a result, may overheat and (at least temporarily) leave the service hardware components. For that to happen under any circumstances during the SG12, Silverstone has raised the fan size from 80 to 120 mm. A positive side effect of the larger fan is a reduced noise level at the same or better cooling capacity. The Silverstone standard built fan rotates at 1,200 rpm and sucks cool fresh air into the case. On back and above the expansion slots, two more of fans in the format 80 mm available in order to increase the cooling capacity further, if necessary.

Motherboard: Micro ATX, Power Supply: Standard ATX, Graphics card: multi-slot with up to 36 cm length. The question whether there still fit drives into the SilverStone Sugo SG12, can be answered quickly. Yes, up to nine (!) 2.5-inch SSDs / HDDs or three 3.5-inch drives. For any optional fan controllers or even an ODD, an external 5.25-inch drive bay is available for use. Conveniently, the power supply is positioned on the motherboard that the CPU and voltage transformers heated air directly transported from the housing and thus supports the processor cooler. The latter may have a total height of up to 82 mm.

The optical design of the SilverStone Sugo SG12 is simple. The term ?? the shape resulting from the function ?? Is it very good. Any form of curves on the casing would indeed make the design special, but functionally bring no additional benefit. Therefore, Silverstone has probably limited to a simple look. And side cover elements consist of a part, which is painted black and, as the frame for increased stability and robustness, is made of steel. Numerous vents allow to cool various hardware configurations quietly and effectively.

When front-end design, it has nevertheless not allow Silverstone to take, despite high utility to place a small optical playfulness: So was the handle which makes the transport of the Power-housing easier by a multiple, colored blue. The remaining front device is held in a brushed aluminum finish, with the obligatory connections for Audio In / Out, 2x USB 3.0, status LEDs and A – / – Reset switch. High-end computing machines must be placed no longer unwieldy big towers thanks to the Sugos and its development ?? on the next 10 years Sugo Evolution!

Note: The height of the CPU cooler must not be more than 82 mm.
