The launch of SilverStone’s Grandia GD07 and GD08 cases ushers in a completely new era of home theater computing. For the first time, the power and storage capacity of a server can be seamlessly, elegantly, and quietly integrated into a home theater environment. Completely redesigned to maximize internal space utilization, the Grandia GD08 can accommodate an incredible number of drives (up to twelve) and, with minimal compromises, even state-of-the-art components (graphics cards up to 34.54 cm long).

It’s even possible to install Extended ATX motherboards (SSI EEB; 30.48 cm x 33.02 cm), despite the external dimensions being comparable to SilverStone’s previous generation of full-size HTPC cases.

Drawing on the wealth of experience gained from building high-performance tower cases over the past years, SilverStone engineers significantly upgraded the cooling performance of the GD08 with up to five 120mm fans. And to ensure that owners can maintain optimal cooling performance with minimal noise emissions over the long term, the case is surrounded by application-specific, removable filters to create positive air pressure, enabling efficient and quiet operation.

Complementing the impressive new design, the GD08 features the thickest aluminum front panel (10 mm) of any SilverStone case to date – with a design that pays homage to the most popular HTPC case of all time, the Lascala LC17. For HTPC enthusiasts worldwide, this case is truly a dream come true!

The beautiful case offers seven (plus one vertically usable) expansion slots. Of course, two modern USB 3.0 ports are also included as front connectors. In addition to the pre-installed 120mm fans, the Grandia offers the option to install two 80mm fans at the rear of the case, as well as another 120mm fan on the side. Inside, a total of eight 3.5-inch drives and two 2.5-inch drives can be installed. The entire internal drive cage can be removed, a process made easier by two integrated handles.
