The Dutch company has added a well-equipped midi tower to its popular Enthoo range of enclosures, the Pro, which does not burden the wallet too much.

The Phanteks Enthoo Pro Midi Tower in detail

The two-part side window made of tempered glass of the Enthoo Pro gives you a glimpse of built-in water cooling, LED fans or simply RGB strips, all of which, in addition to bulky hardware, find enough space in the expansive interior. The stylish detachable plastic front brushed aluminum look gives the case a sleek look with its slanted and offset sides. Above are the bays for up to three 5.25-inch optical drives or controllers for fans or RGB lighting, which can be installed without tools. Underneath, Phanteks installs a quiet 140mm fan for proper ventilation of the case.

In addition, there are two HDD cages in which three 3.5-inch drives can be installed without tools in a tray or optionally three 2.5-inch drives can be screwed. Two additional 2.5-inch drives can be attached to the outside of the support for the HDD cages. Two additional 2.5 drives are available on optional carriers, which can be installed on the back of the mainboard tray, where not only E-ATX but also SSI CEB boards can be screwed from the server area. Both HDD cages can also be removed, for example to make room for oversized graphics cards, which may be instead of 347 whopping 472 millimeters long. Expansion slots offer the Phanteks Enthoo Pro a total of eight.

Massive space for fans

Of course so many components have to be properly cooled. In addition to the 140 mm fan behind the front, Phanteks also provides a 140 mm fan for the single space at the rear. In the front of the 140-mm fan can be supplemented by another model of this size. Alternatively, two 120 mm or one 200 mm fans can be mounted. Three 120mm, three 140mm or 200mm fans can be installed on the top under the steel mesh element. At the bottom, there is still the possibility to accommodate two 120 mm or one 140 mm fan. Even on the side walls of the two HDD cages, there is still room for a 120 mm fan. A CPU cooler may be 193 millimeters in size.

If you prefer to use a water cooling, you will also find enough mounting options. At the front, a 240 mm radiator can be accommodated. There is even more room at the top for accommodating a 360mm or even a giant 420mm radiator. On the back, the 140mm fan can be replaced with compact 120mm or 140mm AiO radiators. Below may be radiators up to 240 millimeters in size.

Excellent cable management

Of course, such a comprehensive set-up requires a sufficiently dimensioned power supply, which fits on the bottom of rubber feet behind a screw-on cover. At the bottom are two more air filters on rails, which can be easily pulled out for cleaning. From the cover, the cables can be laid over the back of the mainboard tray to the desired locations.

Especially the thoughtful cable management of the Phanteks Enthoo Pro convinces in this price range. The cover of the power supply unit has oval outlets on both sides for cables, which, like all other recesses, are provided with grommets made of rubber which, on the one hand, protect the cables from possible sharp edges, but can also be considered an additional design element. The cables are attached to the back of the mainboard tray with Velcro straps or cable ties, which Phanteks has included in a comprehensive set of mounting hardware.

Ideal for modders

These include knurled screws with rubber buffers for attaching the side panels, which are like the case also high quality steel. In any case, Phanteks has largely renounced rivets, most of the elements are just screwed. The company knows many of its customers are modders and equips most of its enclosures accordingly.

While Phanteks has placed the power switch on the lid, the I / O panel sits hidden behind a flap above the three 5.25-inch lids on the front. There are two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports and one socket each for audio in and out. The LED control also allows Phantek RGB products to be controlled and fired with 10 color presets. To control the fan, a PWM hub is integrated into the housing, which can be addressed directly from the mainboard.
