The advantage is that the connections can be reached quickly and comfortably without a big fiddling at the back of the housing to connect a VR glasses.
The two USB 3.0 ports on the front panel are connected to a USB 3.0 header on the mainboard via a 42 cm cable, while the HDMI connector is connected to the graphics card with a one meter long cable. If the graphics card you are using does not have an internal HDMI connector, the cable must be routed through openings in the enclosure (such as a PCI panel, tubing).
