Dirt particles pose a significant risk to water cooling systems, especially when they are constantly being supplied. They can clog the fine structures of the cooler and the pump, thus impairing function and cooling performance. Although dirt particles do not normally get into the circuit, many color additives, for example, contain suspended particles that have the same effect.

The well-known manufacturer aqua computer has addressed the problem and designed a very high-quality steel filter that, when housed in an elegant housing, also becomes a visual highlight. The base body is made of black Delrin – a high-strength plastic. This is attached using a stainless steel plate and four holes. The filter can be installed horizontally and vertically – for example in the front or in the lid.

An acrylic glass panel offers a view of the inner workings and direct inspection of the filter. This quickly shows whether cleaning is necessary. The connection is made with two G1/4 inch threads. These can be closed quickly and easily on the back using two rotary levers, so that no liquid can leak out when removing or cleaning.

The water is fed through the fine steel mesh and thus filtered of suspended particles. The stainless steel mesh is large, which is why cleaning is rarely necessary. However, depending on the level of dirt, this should be done regularly, as a clogged filter can significantly impede the flow.

The filter can also be illuminated from behind. For this purpose, there is a 1/8 inch screw plug on the back, which can be unscrewed and replaced with a corresponding lighting kit. This then lights up directly behind the filter.
