With KryoSheet, Thermal Grizzly is introducing a new product that is part of the companys advertised High Performance Cooling Solutions. The graphene thermal pads of the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet series can be used as an excellent alternative to thermal pastes from the higher performance segment. Similar to the Carbonaut pads, they have an adaptable surface with very high thermal conductivity.
Compared to Carbonaut pads, KryoSheet, as a high-end product, offers significantly higher thermal conductivity. This increased thermal conductivity is not only due to the choice of material, but also to the innovative manufacturing process. KryoSheet does not contain any liquid components and is therefore not subject to normal aging, as is the case with traditional thermal paste. It cannot dry out.
What makes KryoSheet so special?
The KryoSheet graphene pads have a molecular structure stacked in the Z direction. This optimized structure enables outstanding and constant thermal conductivity. This is due to a specially developed manufacturing process in which the hexagonal crystal structure of the graphite is broken up along the basal plane in order to be able to exploit the anisotropy of the thermal conductivity of the graphite. As a side effect of this complex manufacturing process, however, the electrical conductivity is also increased and the stability of the KryoSheet pads is affected, so that the pads should only be used according to the instructions!
Due to the optimized thermal conductivity of KryoSheet compared to Carbonaut, the focus of the graphene pads is on enthusiast products in the end customer segment as well as on industrial applications. Examples of the use of KryoSheet are the refurbishing of used graphics cards and notebooks/laptops.
Who is the KryoSheet worthwhile for? The KryoSheet pads ease of use and durability are two advantages. The pads long durability means they are maintenance-free. In addition to applications in industry, for example when building servers, this is also an advantage when building PCs at home or in the OEM sector. Because the pads do not have to be replaced at regular intervals like thermal paste, there is no need for complex maintenance.
The pads should be purchased in a size that is slightly larger than the area to be covered. In the case of an Intel desktop CPU (socket 115x, 1200) with a heat spreader (IHS) size of 32 x 32 mm, the KryoSheet should be selected in a size of 33 x 33 mm. After cleaning the contact surface (CPU, CPU cooler, GPU, GPU cooler), the KryoSheet is simply positioned on the processor or graphics chip to be cooled before the cooler is mounted.
Attention! KryoSheet graphene pads are electrically conductive and must not come into contact with electrical components!
