Silverstone SST-ST40F-ES230 Strider Essential Series - 400 Watt

The Strider power supplies from Silverstone represent the noble manufacturers Silent series and are offered in countless power levels. They thus provide a perfect solution for almost all users who want to combine performance with low volume. With the Strider Essential series, Silverstone is now combining the usual benefits with rock-solid equipment at an attractive price.

The PSU case, which is painted black in this variant, has only a minimal installation depth (14 cm), which means that it can also be installed in older PC cases without any problems, which are often overwhelmed with the mostly overly long specifications of current PSUs. A fan grill protects the 120 mm fan, which automatically adjusts its speed depending on the load and thus ensures minimal noise development.

The power pack easily fulfils the power pack efficiency of 80 percent at the peak (at 230 volts and 50 Hz) and thus receives the corresponding badge. This reduces power consumption compared to power supplies with lower efficiency. At the same time, the heat dissipation is reduced, which in turn benefits the low volume due to the lower fan speeds.

Instead of a 12 V line that is split several times, the SST-ST40F-ES-230 has a powerful single rail with a full 30 amperes of current. The main line of the 400-watt power supply unit reliably supplies even systems that are equipped with overclocked components.

The permanently attached cables include all the necessary connections for connecting medium-sized configurations. In addition to the obligatory 20+4-pin connector for the mainboard, a 4+4-pin connector is available for the CPU. Two 6+2-pin PCIe connectors supply the graphics card. In addition, four SATA drives, three 4-pin Molex devices and a floppy drive can be connected.
