This has traditionally been done in the past by means of an externally accessible fan control, which has been mounted in front of a free 5.25-inch or 3.5-inch slot of the housing. Disadvantages: You need such a free slot. Housings with front doors are then often not closed properly. As a rule, you have to remember to increase the fan speed, for example, if you want to start a game and temporarily increase the case and CPU cooling.

NZXT does it quite differently with the fan GRID + V3 offered here. The small black box is a fan distributor for up to six directly connectable 3-pin or 4-pin PWM fans, with the corresponding adapter even more fans and two 4-pin models are possible (two Y-adapters are included) , The only important thing is not to exceed the combined maximum power of 30 watts. The GRID + V3 box is virtually anywhere in the case placeable (by magnetic back or 3M Dual Lock) and is connected via a supplied cable with a free USB 2.0 header of the mainboard and a 4-pin Molex connector of the power supply ,

Now all six fans can be controlled together via CAM software directly on the PC in the power supplied to them in Watts. It is also possible to assign names to the fans in order to always know exactly which fan is currently running at which speed. In addition, the CPU and GPU temperature is displayed (depending on the processor and graphics card model), so you always know if more cooling is required. An automatic speed curve for all fans can be created depending on the temperature, of course, the assignment of fixed values is possible.

Alternatively one can leave the determination of optimal values for the fan control completely to the NZXT GRID + V3. A supplied acoustic sensor registers the details and special features of the system and calculates the optimum ratio between fan speed and cooling. The most effective and quiet fan settings are determined by machine learning and adjusted as the hardware is replaced.

In addition to its own custom profiles, the CAM software also provides a silent or high-performance profile for quick use. Thus, the NZXT GRID + V3 is not only much more intelligent to use than simple manual fan controller, it can also be stowed in almost every case, does not change the appearance of the PC. Incidentally, the CAM software is also used to control the performance of NZXTs KRAKEN AiO Waküs X31, X41 and X61, so that they can be ideally combined with the Fan GRID + V3.

All connected fans can be individually regulated, the total power must not exceed 30 watts. Connected PWM fans are controlled by the voltage regulation of the CAM software. The attachment in the housing is made using the magnetic back or Velcro fasteners. On the back, the Velcro fasteners have self-adhesive surfaces.
