The NH-U12S in the AMD Socket AM4 special edition is a single-tower CPU cooler with a 120 mm fan from Noctuas classic U series, which has received more than 400 awards and recommendations from international specialist publications. The 45 mm slim design of the S version not only guarantees 100% compatibility with high RAM modules, but also enables a further improved silent cooling performance compared to the previous version thanks to a further optimized design in combination with the NF-F12 FocusedFlow fan, which can be controlled fully automatically via PWM.

Due to the width of 125 mm (incl. fans and fan clips), the cooler does not protrude over the top PCIe slot on normal ATX or Micro-ATX mainboards, so that the best compatibility with SLI and CrossFire systems is guaranteed.
Recommended by over 150 hardware publications and thousands of enthusiasts, the NF-F12 FocusedFlow fan is known for its combination of superb static pressure, excellent cooling performance and amazing quietness. It supports PWM for convenient, fully automatic speed control via the mainboard. In addition, the maximum speed can be reduced from 1,500 to 1,200 rpm with the included low-noise adapter to enable even quieter operation.
The LNA (Low-Noise Adapter) reduces the speed to 1,200 rpm, which reduces the volume to 18.6 dB(A). For users who want to achieve even better performance with a second NF-F12 fan in push/pull operation, the NH-U12S comes with special fan clips and an additional set of anti-vibration pads. These enable the rear fan to be offset by 5mm and thus achieve better acoustics in double fan operation.
This special edition of the Noctua NH-U12S only includes mounting material for attaching the CPU cooler to motherboards with AMDs AM4 socketthat started in 2017 with the AMD Ryzen™ desktop processors. Due to the changed hole spacing on the motherboards retention module, the fastening materials included here are not compatible with the previous AMD sockets 754, 939, 940, FM1, FM2, FM2+, AM2, AM2+, AM3 and AM3+ or Intel sockets !
