The NA-FD1 air duct set for Noctua coolers enables significant performance increases in compact cases where there is a gap of at least 5 mm (max. 45 mm) between the fan and the perforated side panel or cover of the case.
Because the air duct bridges this gap, the cooler only sucks in fresh air from outside and no longer draws in warm air from inside the housing. Depending on the system, this reduces CPU temperatures by up to 5 degreesC.
Since the air duct is made of EVA foam parts of different thicknesses, it is completely modular and can be adjusted in 1 mm increments from 5 to 45 mm in height. This means that the NA-FD1 supports a wide variety of housings and configurations.
The set includes 7 foam frames made of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) in different thicknesses (2x 10, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 mm). These are placed on top of each other to bridge gaps of different widths. If you change cases or configurations, you can easily adjust the airflow by removing or adding frames.
