Peak power is paid for with an equally top heat generation in the graphics card segment remains. Only if the clock screw turned fully and the computing units are used to the last segment, the decisive advantage over its competitors is to be achieved. Smaller feature sizes and more efficient layout can limit this problem though, but not completely off. After all, the next generation is expected to demand up to the maximum.

The problem is exacerbated by its own overclocking, because then the temperatures can rise to harmful levels. In short: Who wants in games operation or even at a low setting Benchen and possibly simultaneously wants to turn the clock screw, comes barely past a water cooling. Besides the usual components (radiator, pump, expansion tank), a suitable graphics board’s cooler is necessary – just as this model of watercooling specialists EK Water Blocks, which with the AMD Radeon R9 Fury X with 4096 MB memory and the variants of the Radeon R9 Fury is compatible in the reference design.
There is a full-block design, which covers all relevant sources of heat the graphics card and thus effectively cools – so the GPU, memory and voltage regulators. This electrolytic copper and an optimized channel structure to be used to transfer the heat optimally. Through the split-flow design, it is easily possible to operate the cooler with the reverse flow direction. To better protect and personalises the copper was covered in this version with a silver nickel layer.
The cover is made of acetal, a robust and heat-resistant special plastic. The port terminal has four G1 / 4-inch thread. The particularly flat design of the radiator and the connection of multiple graphics cards in an SLI configuration by EK-FC terminal is no problem (but without compatibility EK-FC Bridge or EK-FC Link). The height is limited – favored by the connection configuration of Fury X – to a single slot, which is why the cooler supplied with a single-slot aperture.
Notes: For integration into the cooling circuit connections are needed, which are not supplied. For 1 g EK-TIM ectotherm-thermal grease and thermal pads are included, to make contact between cooler and graphics card. It is important to ensure that the cooler exclusively for the AMD Radeon R9 Fury X with 4096 MB memory and for Radeon R9-Fury cards with Fury-X reference board is suitable! The original cooler must be removed before installation, so the warranty expires!
