The backplate is black anodized and has milled contact surfaces for the RAM modules on the back of the graphics card.
In addition to the optical enhancement, the backplate offers greater stability for the graphics card with water cooler. This effectively prevents the PCB from bending as a result of one-sided tightening of the screws when fastening the main cooler and thus permanently exposed to tension.
The backplate is not compatible with the original RTX cooler, does not have water flowing through it, is not primarily intended as a heat sink and cannot be used individually. However, it can be used without restriction with all kryographics NEXT 3080 Strix / 3090 Strix water coolers from aqua computer. The required screws are included in the scope of delivery.
