This is a backplate for graphics cards of the type AMD Radeon R9 and R9 Fury Fury X reference design with 4096 MB memory. They can only be used in conjunction with a matching EK Water Blocks cooler and is screwed onto the back of the Pixel Accelerator. As this page is usually turned upward and thus highly visible in the housing, a visual upgrade is here clearly work better than on the front of the graphics card.
To accomplish this task perfectly, an EK logo is stamped out of black anodized aluminum plate and additionally engraved lettering. In addition to the visual upgrade the backplate also offers greater stability. Thus, effectively prevents the PCB due to one-sided tightening of the screws to bend at the mounting of the main cooler and thus permanently exposed voltages.
The backplate is not compatible with the graphics card cooler Original, is not traversed by water, is not intended primarily as a heat sink and can not be used individually. However, it is fully usable with matching coolers from EK Water Blocks. The screws needed are included. These are longer than the original screws, since they must be bolted through the backplate and the PCB with the main cooler.
