The biggest advantages of DDR4 memory, which can only be used on compatible motherboards with DDR4 memory banks, at a glance: It consumes less energy, since the reference voltage is only 1.2 V, while even DDR3 low-voltage memory is still at 1 , 35 V was. In addition, in DDR4 the – also official – clock rate range is increased, so that most bars work with more MHz. Finally, DDR4 DIMM memory density has been increased over DDR3, so individual modules can now have even greater maximum capacity.
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT Series memory latches have been designed as good low latency performance RAM. They combine a reasonable purchase price with high performance data and are therefore ideal for gamers to enthusiasts. The DDR4 RAM modules feature beautifully designed gray heat spreaders (heatspreaders) to improve thermal performance. However, Crucial has designed the heatspreader so that the Ballistix Sport LT memory does not go up unnecessarily – an advantage in cramped systems.
This DDR4 RAM kit includes two 8GB DIMMs (16GB total) with black PCBs. With support for Intels XMP 2.0, the correct settings are made automatically by compatible motherboards, so the Ballistix Sport LT then clocks at 1.2 volts at 2400 MHz, achieving latencies of CL 16-16-16. The memory can be used in this set in dual-channel mode, if the motherboard offers the appropriate support. Crucial offers a very long manufacturer warranty period of 10 years!
