It is a full-block design that covers all relevant heat sources of the graphics card and thus cools effectively – i.e. the GPU, the memory and the voltage converters. Nickel-plated and chrome-plated copper is used to optimally transfer the heat.
The cover is made of transparent acrylic glass, which allows a view of the coolant flowing through. The connection terminal has four holes (G1/4-inch thread). The flat design of the cooler also makes it easy to connect several graphics cards in a network. The included backplate is made of black anodized aluminum and covers the back of the graphics card, contributing to the elegant look of the cooler. It also increases the stability of the graphics card with the cooler installed.
The digitally addressable RGB LED lighting is connected to a mainboard or RGB controller via a 3-pin connector (5VDG). Compatibility with GIGABYTE RGB Fusion 2, ASRock Polychrome Sync, ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light, Biostar Vivid LED DJ and Razer Chroma is also available.
Why should I cool my graphics card with water?
Top performance in the graphics card segment is still bought at the price of top heat development. Because only when the clock screw is turned all the way and the calculation units are used up to the last segment can the decisive advantage over the competition be achieved. Smaller structure widths and more efficient layouts can limit this problem, but cannot completely eliminate it. The next generation will also be expected to be pushed to the limit.
The problem is made even worse by overclocking, as temperatures can reach critical levels. In short: If you want a low noise level when gaming or even benching and possibly want to turn the clock speed screw at the same time, you can hardly avoid water cooling. In addition to the usual components (radiator, pump, expansion tank), a suitable cooler for the ASUS RTX 3080 graphics cards is of course necessary – such as this model from the water cooling specialist Bitspower.
Note 1: To integrate it into the cooling circuit, connections are required that are not included in the scope of delivery. The original cooler must be removed before installation, which can void the manufacturers warranty.
