In addition to a new design for the fan, pump and radiator, the Z73 boasts high static pressure, lower noise and reinforced hoses for increased durability. The pump itself is equipped with an LCD display and enables a wide range of customization options, which can be adjusted directly on the desktop using the advanced CAM software in addition to the settings for the pump.

The NZXT Kraken Z73 relies on a triple aluminum radiator in 360 mm format. The cooling performance and the resulting volume are not only regulated via the fan speed of the supplied 120 millimeter fan, but also via the motor speed of the pump, which can be between 800 and 2,800 rpm. As usual, the pump is integrated on the back of the CPU cooling block, which rests with its copper surface on the AMD or Intel processor.
NZXT uses three of their modern Aer-P fans in 120 mm format to cool the radiator. Thanks to the angled air inlet and outlet openings and the so-called winglet fan blades, air resistance is minimized and fan performance and static pressure are increased. The copper fluid dynamic bearings used mean that the service life of the Aer-P fans is even longer than six years. They also ensure constant lubrication, which noticeably reduces background noise during operation.
The pump is connected to the mainboard via USB, the speedometer signal is read out via a 3-pin fan header, which is also connected to the mainboard. The NZXT Kraken Z73 is supplied with energy via a SATA power connection.
Customizable LCD display & CAM software
In terms of design, NZXT has come up with something very special. There is an LCD display on the back of the cooling block. Data and values from the CAM software, images and even GIFs can be shown on the 2.36-inch display. Everything can be set and personalized in the CAM software according to your ideas and preferences. The content on the display can be easily rotated in 90 degrees steps using the software, depending on the direction in which the cooler is mounted.
NZXT even gives the user the option to adjust the pump and fan performance themselves with the CAM software. So if you want to adjust the balance between cooling and volume or between pump and fan speed instead of relying on the out-of-the-box settings, the KRAKEN Z73 gives you the opportunity to do so. In addition, the current water and core temperature are also indicated here and you can even switch between different profiles.
The Kraken Z73 comes pre-filled and comes with thermal paste already applied to the CPU contact area. Thanks to the nylon-coated hoses with a length of 40 cm, the radiator can be flexibly positioned in three adjacent 120 mm fan slots in the housing.
