As with the reference design, Gigabyte relies on High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), the second generation of revolutionary high-speed memory.
The 8 GB HBM2 memory, clock with 945 MHz and are connected via a 2048-bit memory interface to the graphics chip (GPU). One of the peculiarities of HBM memory is the placement directly in the GPU die (ie in the graphics chip) and not soldered as usual on the board. The graphics chip itself clocks at the Gigabyte Radeon RX Vega 64 Gaming OC with 1.276 MHz and can clock up to 1.560 MHz when needed in boost mode.
The better the graphics chip is cooled, the longer it can sustain the boost clock.
