The advantages of this solution are the excellent cooling of the GPU, the excellent price – performance ratio , resulting from possible re-use and the associated very high compatibility .
 
However, if an AMD Radeon R9 280 , R9 a 280X or a Radeon HD7970 or HD 7950 calls his own , will determine beyond doubt that the EK- VGA Supreme HF cooler a little bit too much space on the actual GPU surface leave . Thus, the cooling of course can not be used.
 
To overcome this problem , EK Water Blocks has this small adapter plate of thermally conductive copper developed that fills the little empty space between the GPU and the GPU cooler and so produces the heat-conducting connection between the GPU and the GPU cooler .
 
Notes: To ensure that no damage occurs , it is imperative prior to installation to be applied to both sides of the adapter – plate thermal paste ! The original radiator has to be removed before installation , so that the manufacturers warranty expires!
