The ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 Ti STRIX A8G Gaming has a base clock of 1,607 MHz. If necessary, it can be boosted to 1,683 MHz with a boost of GPU boost 3.0. The memory clock of the GDDR5 memory is 2.002 MHz (effectively 8.008 MHz) MHz. With the ASUS DirectCU III cooler design, the copper heatpipes are located directly on the graphics chip. The heat dissipated to aluminum fins is swirled by three fans.
If the graphics chip is not used to full capacity and requires less cooling, the fans are downshifted or switched off completely. This allows the quietest possible operation of the graphics card. Two 4-pin fan connectors allow up to two PWM chassis fans to be connected to the graphics card. This makes it possible to match the rotational speed of the PWM case fans to the temperature of the pixel accelerator. Since the graphics chip usually generates more heat when playing than the CPU, this solution can be used to ensure a better venting of the housing.
The gray-black radiator cover is equipped with RGB LED lighting. Together with the RGB-lit Strix logo on the backplate, the Strix graphics card is stylishly staged. The RGB LEDs are controlled by the aura lighting technology. This can also be found on various ASUS motherboards. Some of these motherboards even have connectors for RGB LED strips that provide the lighting in line with the motherboard and graphics card!
ASUS offers on its website with the GPU Tweak II software a tool to overclock the ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 Ti STRIX A8G gaming as usual. In order to realize the full potential of the card, you should also download and install NVIDIA or ASUS drivers at regular intervals.
GeForce GTX 1070 Ti: gaming power for VR and 4K!
The GeForce GTX 1070 Tis 8 GB video memories are connected to the GPU via a 256-bit memory interface and the built-in GP104 graphics chip has 2,432 CUDA cores, 152 texture units and 64 raster operators. The resulting computing power is 7.8 TFLOPS. Thus, the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti opens new perspectives when entering the luxury segment.
The GTX 1070 Ti Series graphics cards support DirectX 12 and current gaming technologies including NVIDIA Gameworks, Warp, Stereo-X, VR-Audio, PhysX, and Simultaneous Multi-Projection (SMP). The latter is supported in version 4.0 and offers great advantages, in particular for VR, curved displays and multi-display setups.
Thus, with SMP 4.0, a total of 16 viewports and two viewports can be rendered in one go. By using multiple viewports, the rendered image also has a lower number of calculated pixels, which dramatically improves VR performance.
The GeForce GTX 1070 Ti features 4K / Ultra HD resolutions at 60 Hertz via three DisplayPort 1.4 and one HDMI 2.0b ports, with the latter featuring HDCP 2.2 for sending and receiving encrypted signals (4K Blu-Ray / 4K streams). Alternatively, the GTX 1070 Ti has a DVI-D (dual-link) output.
