Details

The AMD A8-7600 is one of the top models of the latest generation of APU named Kaveri. He takes up 4MB L2 cache back and used it for the processor-Part two of the improved Steamroller modules (total 4 CPU cores), which are characterized by an increased per-clock performance and extensive feature range such as AES encryption, AMD-V virtualization technology or SSE and AVX instruction set extensions. The fabricated chip in 28nm overclocked at the Basic Level with 3.100 MHz and can increase via Turbo Core 3.0 with a corresponding burden on the clock of single cores up to 3,800 MHz.

According to the modern architecture of the CPU-graphics chips, the silicon includes a total of all 10 processing units, divided into the four mentioned 64-bit CPU cores (2 modules) and six compute units of the graphics unit (384 shaders) with 720 MHz clock. The greater part of the team Graphic collected almost half of the total chip area and has the strongest growth compared to its predecessor. He is now therefore in the form of an integrated Radeon R7-series. The architecture is based is called GCN (Graphics Core Next) and found both in the dedicated Radeon graphics cards in the HD-7000 and R-series, as well as the latest game consoles Xbox One and PlayStation 4 application.

In addition, the APU combines several other important functions in itself, which were formerly separately vorfand in the chipset on the motherboard, such as the memory controller with a native support for DDR3 memory up to 2,133 MHz clock. Here AMD now uses a heterogeneous system architecture, making graphics and processor cores to work together more intensively. A feature of this technology is the new memory management named Huma, which helps to create a common access to the memory of the PC, which can be used equally by both parties. Both functional units can thus always exchange information with each other and operate independently.

Overall, this symbiotic chip offers so potent computing power for undemanding gaming claims – and all without a dedicated graphics card! With its maximum TDP of only 65 watts, it thus enables multimedia PCs in miniature and is predestined for use in ITX Cube or enclosures. If that is still too warm, which can, however, configure the dissipation of its Kaveri APU with appropriate motherboard BIOS or UEFI-free and the APU so limiting example, at 45 Watt TDP. The performance is then reduced automatically, so that the desired power dissipation is not exceeded.

Other highlights include, for example, support for multi-monitor mode Eyefinity velvet, ultra-HD resolution (4K) or AMD True Audio. In addition, the integrated Universal Video Decoder (UVD) plays all imaginable forms of HD video material from liquid, without thereby burdening the CPU. AMDs revolutionary interface for hardware 3D calculations called Mantle relieves the processor of the APU and obsolete thanks to direct access to the graphics unit the maximum out of the Radeon graphics part with Graphics Core Next architecture out.

This is the tray version of the processor. A CPU cooler therefore not included.

Note: To use a Kaveri APU a FM2 + -Mainboard is mandatory
