With a total of seven high quality internal antennas, the ASUS Lyra AC2200 Mesh WLAN achieves data transfer rates of 867 Mbps in the 5 GHz frequency range and WLAN speeds of up to 400 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz frequency range. The Lyra modules communicate with each other also in the 5 GHz frequency range, so that data transmission rates of 867 Mbit / s can be achieved in the entire mesh network.

Using MU-MIMO technology (multi-user), compatible devices can also be operated with their own dedicated, maximum WLAN speed, which means that multiple devices can connect in parallel and the network is not slowed down. In the case of conventional single-user SU-MIMO technology, individual connected devices may wait in succession for the transmissions, which may cause delays.

With the easy-to-use ASUS Hive app, installing and setting up the mesh network is a breeze. In just three steps, the user can use a smartphone, tablet or PC to set up Mesh WiFi in just 30 seconds. In addition to the setup, the ASUS App also allows you to manage traffic, diagnose connectivity issues, or perform firmware updates-all without turning on a PC.

Mesh networks and mesh Wi-Fi

Depending on the frequency band used, the range of normal WLAN routers or access points is generally limited to a relatively small area and can easily be disturbed by metallic objects and walls, water and moisture, and electrical appliances such as microwaves.
