The FC9B Alpha has a slightly different design compared to FC9B. It is now located on each side of a USB 3.0 port, the internal drive assembly has been improved and introduced a refined surface treatment and tighter tolerances. Here is the Version without slot for an optical drive - for systems with such a drive is also a variant with a corresponding opening available.

This housing made of sandblasted aluminum offers a variety of features such as direct touch heatpipe cooling and a little more space for drives thanks to the new hard disk attachment. The FC9B Alpha is far more than a computer case - as a work of art, it combines form and function. This may also record motherboards in the popular micro-ATX Mini ITX standard addition and thus offers not only an expansion slot but three - in the low-profile form.

Minimalist design and the use of high quality materials distinguish the case continues. The entire outer envelope (and the on / off switch) is made of sandblasted aluminum. The FC9B Alpha has a passive CPU cooling with four heatpipes including mounting hardware for all current socket. CPUs up to a TDP of 95 watts (when there is sufficient airflow around the body) can be operated passively, the recommended 65 Watt TDP.

Two USB 3.0 ports that are internally connected to the motherboard is already installed at the factory. It may, depending on the other components, such as the size of the motherboard are used simultaneously internally up to three 2.5-inch and three 3.5-inch drives.

The solid aluminum front with 4 mm thick at the front and 9mm at the sides only has recesses for the optional infrared interface and the power button. If the hardware is installed, only very few openings are available. Only in the soil and cover ventilation holes are recessed.
