Kolink Continuum 80 PLUS Platinum power supply, modular - 1050 watts [KL-C1050PL-B]

From now on, Kolink also wants to impress gamers with several (heavily) overclocked graphics cards as well as operators of rendering platforms and workstations with quality and price-performance. With high-end models with more than 1,000 watts of nominal power and 80 PLUS Platinum efficiency, Kolink is now in no way inferior to the brands that are better known in Germany.

For such performance, Kolink relies on the latest upper-class technology: While the circuit in the primary area uses the principle of LLC resonance conversion, the manufacturer uses DC-DC technology with independent voltage regulation in the secondary area. Both the efficiency and the precision of the power supply benefit from this combination, especially with asymmetrical loads. This means that the Continuum power supply can be loaded with the entire nominal power on the +12 volt rail if necessary. Widely varying load conditions are commonplace, especially in systems with multiple main processors and graphics cards - it's good that Kolink designed the new top series for extreme scenarios right from the start.

Long-term operation of such powerful hardware is expensive anyway, as electricity costs are proportional to the power consumption of the components. With the Kolink Continuum power supply, the additional costs can be reduced somewhat compared to standard systems: The particularly high efficiency meets the requirements of 80 PLUS Platinum and therefore exceeds 94/92/90 percent at 50/20/100 percent load in the European 230 volts -Network. Compared to simpler power supplies with gold certification, the Kolink Continuum saves a good 20 watts. In addition, waste heat is minimized, which benefits cooling and extends the service life.

Extensive variety of connections and all protective circuits
When it comes to component assembly, Kolink chooses quality: only 105-degree electrolytic capacitors from Japanese brands are used. After all, the name of the Continuum series stands for permanent and trouble-free operation. A particularly slowly rotating 140 millimeter fan with golf ball surfaces and a particularly durable double ball bearing provides the necessary air flow for cooling. Kolink's entry into the high-end segment can therefore not only impress with its voltage quality, but also with particularly low operating noise and good cooling.

A clear highlight of the Kolink Continuum C1050PL is the gigantic range of connections: In addition to the 20+4-pin ATX connector for the board, up to one 4+4-pin and one 8-pin 12V EPS connector can be used supply two high processors. There are six 6+2-pin PCIe connectors on three cable harnesses for the graphics cards. Even render setups with six mid-range GPUs can be operated without any adapter tinkering solutions. The other components are each supplied with eight SATA and 4-pin Molex connectors. This means that every power supply in the new Continuum series can deliver exceptional performance over the long term. A successful entry into the market for high-end power supplies!
