The NVMe SSDs with the PCIe 4.0 standard achieve extremely high speeds. In order to maintain the enormous performance, the manufacturer equips the 3D TLC NAND ex works with a large aluminum heat sink.
The Corsair Force Series MP600 NVMe M.2 SSD at a glance:
Modern PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD with 1 TB capacity
Extremely fast 4,950 / 4,000 MB/s read/write
Total 620,000/550,000 IOPS 4KB Random Read/Write
Phison's PS5016-E16 Controller & 3D TLC NAND
Guaranteed write volume: 1,800 TBW
M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD with brute read and write speed
The Phison controller of this hyper-fast drive supports four PCI Express lanes of the standard 4.0, which make a theoretical maximum of about 7,800 MB/s possible! In conjunction with the built-in 3D TLC NAND, the 1 TB version of the Corsair Force Series MP600 achieves an enormous 4,950 MB/s read and 4,000 MB/s write as well as fantastic IOPS values of 620,000 in 4KB read and 550,000 in 4KB write.
NVM Express protocol support for PCIe SSDs
In addition, this Corsair Force Series MP600 also supports the NVM Express protocol (NVMe for short), which has been specially developed for modern PCI Express SSDs. This replaces the old AHCI protocol, which dates back to the time before the general spread of SSDs and is not optimized for highly parallelized disk access. NVMe thus provides significantly lower latencies as well as multiple and deeper command queues, which translate into significantly higher performance for nonlinear transfers such as 4K read/write.
