The Western Digital Black SN850X NVMe SSD is a particularly small M.2 SSD. It is installed in the M.2 slot of the same name and addressed via the NVMe interface and connected via four PCI Express 4.0 lanes. The 1 TB Western Digital Black SN850X NVMe SSD achieves extremely high read and write rates of 7,300 and 6,300 MB/s respectively.

This is also thanks to the 3D NAND TLC flash with 112 layers and the in-house controller from Western Digital, including a 1 GB DDR4 cache. The excellent performance is all the more impressive in view of the small ultrabook or tablet-compatible size of the drive, after all, the Western Digital Black SN850X NVMe SSD is just under 8 cm long and 2.34 cm wide. However, a free M.2 NVMe connection must be available on the device for use. You should ask the manufacturer about compatibility before purchasing.
