This is useful, for example, if you often want to install and remove different graphics cards and do not want to damage the board slot, or if you want more space when commissioning the expansion cards.

Even for modding projects or in housings that deviate from the usual ATX standard, it may be necessary or sensible to place PCI Express expansion cards in unusual places.
