Input resolutions of up to 2,048 x 2,160 pixels and frame rates up to a maximum of 144 FPS are processed via the two separate channels. The Magewell Video Engine supports various functions such as 10-bit video processing, cropping, color correction, hardware timestamps and many more. Magewell Pro Capture Dual HDMI: HD PCIe capture card with two channels
The Magewell Pro Capture Dual HDMI is a capture card for the PCI Express slot. Two different input signals are connected to the card via HDMI and processed on two separate channels. The two Magewell video engines process the signals independently and do not use the CPU of the host PC. Functions such as conversion (up and down) of resolution and refresh rate, de-interlacing, color correction, color space conversion and an on-screen display (OSD) are available.

The maximum input and recording resolution is 2,048 x 2,160 pixels at a maximum of 144 FPS. The actual frame rate can be limited by the PCIe bandwidth and, for resolutions above 1,280 x 1,024 pixels, by the pixel clock of the built-in video processing hardware. The maximum refresh rate at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels is around 80 FPS. By adapting the drivers, non-standardized resolutions and frame rates can also be processed.


Use of multiple cards, hardware timestamps and support
The use of several Magewell Pro Capture Dual HDMI is explicitly intended. A rotatable switch is installed on the circuit board. This can be set in 16 different positions (0 to F) and then determines the card number. This is then displayed in the system; about 01: Pro Capture Dual HDMI when the switch is set to 1. Connected audio and video devices are identified in the software with the card number so that an overview is always kept.

A high-resolution hardware-based clock with 100 ns sets timestamps in audio and video frames. This guarantees an exact dating of the recordings. The clock can be synchronized across several installed cards via SDK (Software Development Kit). The capture card supports various Windows and Linux operating systems as well as numerous APIs and additional software. A detailed list can be found in the technical details.

The Magewell Pro Capture Dual HDMI records with a particularly low latency of just 60 ms. The low-latency mode can be activated via the SDK, which reduces the latency to 64 scan lines. The extensive recording software Capture Express is also supported. If necessary, the firmware can be updated manually. A low-profile PCI bracket is included in the scope of delivery. This allows the form factor to be further reduced and allows space-saving installation in tight spaces.
