The MSI MAG B460M Mortar WIFI Micro-ATX motherboard has two PCIe-x16 slots. One is connected to the chipset with a full 16 lanes, the second has 4 lanes. The board also has a PCIe 3.0 x1 slot for plug-in and expansion cards.

The two M.2 slots connected via four PCIe 3.0 lanes support the NVMe protocol and, in combination with corresponding M.2 SSDs, enable a data transfer rate of just under 4 GB / s. This is about eight times faster than an SSD connected via SATA 6G! Additional drives such as SSDs, HDDs and optical drives can be connected via six SATA 3.0 ports.
