The Gigabyte B550 Gaming X is an ATX motherboard and has a PCI Express 4.0 slot with full x16 connection for graphics cards plus a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot and three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots. The four RAM banks support up to 128 GB DDR4 RAM with a clock rate of up to 3200 megahertz and can even handle clock rates up to 4000 MHz via OC.

Two M.2 slots are provided by the AM4 mainboard. The slots are connected with four PCI Express lanes and accept plug-in cards up to 110 mm (22110).
