B550 mainboards support all features of the Ryzen processors of the third and fourth generation, especially the PCI Express standard in version 4.0 (PCIe 4.0). The Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master is an ATX mainboard and has a PCI Express 4.0 slot with full x16 connection for graphics cards plus two PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots with four lanes each. The four RAM banks support up to 128 GB DDR4 RAM with a clock rate of up to 3200 megahertz and can even handle clock rates up to 5000 MHz via OC.

The AM4 mainboard provides three M.2 slots. The slots are connected with four PCI Express lanes and accept plug-in cards up to 110 mm (22110). One slot is also connected with the SATA-6G protocol. M.2 SSDs with the advanced NVM Express protocol (NVMe) and a connection via four PCI Express 4.0 lanes support data transfer rates of up to 8 GB / s and are twice as fast as via PCI Express 3.0.

The Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master provides a USB 3.1 port with a Type C socket, five USB 3.1 ports with a Type A port (red) and six USB 2.0 ports (type A) ready. The USB Type-C port can be plugged in on both sides, is particularly thin, and USB ports with this standard generally support the quick-charge function of smartphones and tablets. USB 3.1 reaches maximum speeds of 10 Gbit / s per port. An HDMI connection is available for CPUs with an integrated graphics unit such as AMD's Picasso APUs.
