The AMD B450 chipset is the heart of the Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite V2 motherboard and has been specially optimized for AMD Ryzen CPUs. B450 mainboards support up to 128 GB of RAM with a guaranteed clock rate of 2,933 megahertz. With overclocking, significantly higher clock rates are possible, depending on the mainboard, and the B450 chipset also enables the processor to be overclocked.

The Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite V2 ATX motherboard has a PCI Express 3.0 slot with full x16 connection for graphics cards and another PCIe 3.0 x16 slot with x4 connection. The mainboard provides two short PCIe 2.0 x1 slots for additional expansion cards. The four RAM banks support up to 128 GB DDR4 main memory with a clock rate of up to 2,933 megahertz and can even handle clock rates of up to 3,600 MHz via OC.

The AM4 mainboard provides two M.2 slots with PCIe connection. One supports PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA compatible, the other supports PCIe 3.0 x2 speeds. M.2 SSDs with the advanced NVM Express protocol (NVMe) and a connection via four PCI Express 3.0 lanes are up to eight times as fast as SATA 6G hard drives and support data transfer rates of up to 32 Gbit / s. One slot has an integrated heat spreader.

The Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite V2 provides four USB 3.0 ports with type A jacks on the I / O panel. For CPUs with an integrated graphics unit, there is also an HDMI port and a DVI-D port.
