The Gigabyte Z390 D in detail
The Gigabyte Z390 D is a mainboard in ATX format and provides a total of three PCIe-x16 slots, one of which is connected to the chipset with a full 16 lanes, while the others are connected with four data lines. The motherboard offers three PCIe x1 slots for additional plug-in and expansion cards. In addition, several graphics cards can be used on the mainboard at the same time because it supports AMD CrossFire.

The four DIMM slots support up to 128 GB of DDR4 memory in dual-channel mode. The Z390 chipset natively supports clock rates of up to 2666 MHz, but the Gigabyte Z390 D also enables the operation of RAM kits up to 4266 MHz using OC. Six SATA 6G ports and an M.2 slot are available for hard drives and SSDs. This is connected to the chipset with four PCIe lanes and supports the NVMe protocol, which enables data transfer rates of just under 4 GB / s. This means PCIe SSDs are up to eight times faster than SATA 6G SSDs!

The Gigabyte Z390 D has six USB 3.0 ports on the I / O panel with a maximum speed of 5 Gbit / s. An HDMI connection serves as a signal output for processors with an integrated graphics unit.
