The EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming ACX 3.0 has a basestact of 1.506 MHz. With GPU-Boost 3.0 it can be increased to a boost clock of 1.708 MHz. The storage clock is at 4,000 MHz (effectively 8,000 MHz). The "Active Cooling Xtreme" in the third generation is used to cool the graphics card.

The ACX 3.0 layout also offers two revised axial fans with "optimized swept fan blades", double ball bearings and low-power motors. Thanks to the dual-fan design and the design open on all sides, the resulting waste heat can be delivered even better so that the cooler operates very quietly. Thanks to the low power consumption during idle and in 2D operation, this graphics card switches its fans off completely as long as a certain temperature is not exceeded.

The white LED lighting of the EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming ACX 3.0 can be switched off via GeForce Experience. The graphics card is powered by an 8-pin PCIe power plug.

Cheap VR-Ready graphics card from NVIDIA: The GeForce GTX 1060

The 6GB GDDR5 video memory of the GTX 1060 is connected via a 192-bit memory interface to the GPU, which achieves a memory bandwidth of 192 GB / s. The GP106 graphics chip has 1,280 shader units, which are referred to as CUDA cores in NVIDIA.

The GTX-1060 graphics card family supports DirectX 12 and current gaming technologies, including NVIDIA Ansel, GameWorks, Warp, Stereo-X, VR-Audio, PhysX and SMP (Simultaneous Multi-Projection). SMP 4.0 offers great advantages for VR, curved displays and multi-display setups.

Thanks to SMP 4.0, Pascal supports 16 simultaneous viewports, which allow a much more realistic display on several monitors or on curved displays. Especially the gambling in the Virtual Reality (VR) benefits from the new technology, because two viewports can be rendered in one run. By using multiple viewports, the rendered image also comes with a smaller number of calculated pixels.

The GeForce GTX 1060 works with a TDP of only 120 watts and it is recommended to use a power supply with a power of at least 400 watts. The GeForce GTX 1060 has an HDMI 2.0b connector, three DisplayPort 1.4 connectors, and a dual-link DVI output. The HDMI port supports HDCP 2.2 and can send and receive encrypted signals.

In order to make full use of the card's full potential, new NVIDIA or EVGA drivers should be downloaded and installed at regular intervals.
