Cryorig Taku Mini-ITX Case / Monitor Stand [CR-TKA]

The inventors at Cryorig have thought of this case to the end, it leaves strong hardware in the noble housing disappear like silverware in a drawer. At the same time, Cryorig's Taku manages to make room on the desk: the monitor is placed on top of it, and the keyboard is hidden when it is not needed. The Taku convinces with a carefully thought-out inner life and a modern, distinctive exterior.

The Taku of Cryorig in detail
Calling the Taku a monitor stand seems almost derogatory, even if it fits on a very heavy screen, which may bring a maximum of fifteen kilos on the scales. The sophisticated mini ITX case recalls the days when there were still real desktops. However, they were terribly ugly at the time compared to the Taku. Its aluminum housing has a simple metallic look, and the feet are made of fine wood. At the front there is only a large power switch, whose LED also indicates that the drives inside are being accessed.

The I / O panel is located on the right side of the just 14.2 inches high housing. There are two USB 3.0 ports and the obligatory audio jacks. Striking are the two narrow slots on the right and left of the top of the Cryorig Takus, through them, for example, USB cables from the back through the housing to be led forward, such as to connect a smartphone and store it on the housing. Cryorig's concept of keeping as much space as possible on the desk opens up, because under the taku the keyboard can be pushed between the chic wooden feet when not in use.
Thoughtful inner life
The highlight, however, is the drawer, which springs open with the help of a spring mechanism by applying light pressure to the front and revealing the interior of the case. The drawer can be completely removed from the housing by releasing two locks on the rails to accommodate the hardware inside. There, in addition to the mini-ITX motherboard and a dual-slot graphics card space, which may be up to 280 millimeters long, 40 millimeters high and 134 millimeters wide. A CPU cooler may not be more than 48 millimeters high due to the low height and also with the height of the RAM modules there is a limit of 52 millimeters, with most of the bars are already narrower anyway. The power supply is provided by an SFX or SFX-L power supply. Extensions for its 24-pin and 8-pin cables, which must be routed longitudinally through the housing, are provided by Cryorig at the same time.

On the left there is a slot for a 3.5-inch hard drive, on the right two for 2.5-inch drives. There is also room for the only 92 mm fan, the same Cryorig mitliefert. In the sides, in the floor and in the back are mostly punched round holes, which provide additional cooling. There is enough room in the interior between the individual hardware components to ensure good ventilation. In addition to screws and the required Allen key Taku is still a riser card for the GPU, rubber heels for the wooden feet and cable ties included. With his Taku, Cryorig demonstrates that desktops can be both stylish and functional, with ample space for powerful hardware.
