Accordingly, the housings designed for the predecessor are no longer compatible with the Raspberry Pi 4B. This Pi Case 40 by Cooler Master, on the other hand, was specially developed for the 4B and offers efficient passive cooling via the large aluminum cooling block. Thanks to the stable construction made of aluminum and robust plastic, it protects the single-board computer during transport and can be locked in place using the included mounting brackets if necessary.
The features of the Cooler Master Pi Case 40 at a glance:
Case for Raspberry Pi 4 model B
Passive cooling via aluminum block
Easy access to I / O ports
GPIO ports rotated 90 degrees
Protected transport through robust materials
Including VESA wall mount and thermal pads
Cooler Master Pi Case 40: cool, protected and full access
The Pi Case 40 offers reliable protection and efficient cooling for the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B. Thanks to the robust construction made of aluminum, plastic and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), it is ideal for mobile use. A positive side effect of the massive metal construction: heat is dissipated via the integrated cooling block made of aluminum and is then distributed over the entire surface of the housing. This means that no additional fan is required even with overclocking and it is completely silently cooled.
The wide recesses in the bumper allow full access to all connections. The universal GPIO port is protected with a hinged cover and rotated by 90 degrees. This means that all cables can be led out of the housing from the side and can be reached more easily than in the traditional layout. A programmable on / off switch is attached to the top. Various shortcuts can be stored and called up here using various input patterns.
The AiO software Pi Tool from Cooler Master for the Pi Case 40 is particularly interesting for all tinkerers and hobbyists. Here, already tested and validated profiles for overclocking can be called up and set. The on / off switch can also be programmed here and various measurement data can be read off. Some .STP files are also available for free download on the manufacturer's website. Various additional and expansion modules, such as M.2 or 2.5-inch brackets, can be made here.
Note: The side access to the GPIO port is only accessible via jumper cables. The Pi Case 40 is not compatible with devices that require direct access to the GPIO (or even to parts of the GPIO) of the Raspberry Pi with traditional layout. Further information on the arrangement of the GPIO pins can be found in the product images.
