Alphacool's new quick-release coupling sets have been newly developed to offer extra security. For this reason, these couplings do not use a click mechanism but are bolted with a nut. The couplings can be no longer accidentally unlocked.

The couplings do not affect the flow rate of your loop. When unlocking both sides of the coupling sealed completely.

They have a ¼ internal thread on both sides so your choice of fitting can be used.

Pros
Substantial fitting which can't be accidentally unlocked. Ideal for a disconnect which will not be used frequently, say for providing facility for future loop extension, or for an external cooling loop.
Cons
Although dimensions are listed, seemed bigger than expected. Also quite heavy, so care needed with a soft tubing loop.
Care needed particularly when disconnecting, as found there was a tendency for more spill than with traditional QDC fittings.
