The Alpenföhn Brocken 4 Max CPU cooler for Intel and AMD
With the Brocken 4 Max, Alpenföhn presents a worthy addition to the popular Brocken series. The two-part CPU cooler has a large heat sink with aerodynamically optimized fins. In combination with the six 6 mm heat pipes and the included 120 mm PWM fans from the JetStream series, enormous cooling performance is achieved. The RockMount 3 mounting system also offers an optimized and more straightforward installation of the cooler.
Alpenföhn Brocken 4 Max: Ice cold and whisper quiet
The two cooling towers of the Brocken 4 Max have aerodynamically optimized fins with adjusted fin spacing for particularly quiet operation. Especially in conjunction with the JetStream fans, whose airflow-optimized impellers, improved frame and hydrodynamic bearing ensure excellent smooth running with maximum performance. Thanks to the included replacement clips, you can easily attach another 120 fan to the back.
Fans and performance data
The JetStream fan in standard 120 mm format, which is placed between the two coolers, can be connected directly to the built-in mainboard via a PWM connection and rotates at a speed of between 400 and 1,600 rpm depending on the CPU temperature. Equipped with a long-lasting hydrodynamic bearing, a maximum airflow of 94 m³/h is generated at full speed and a noise level of just 22.8 dB(A).
The second JetStream fan, placed on the side, is in a 16 mm deep slim format and can also shine with excellent performance values of 89.4 m³/h air flow and 1.2 mmH2O static pressure. Despite its higher maximum speed of 1,800 rpm, it remains almost as quiet as the larger version at 24.7 dB(A).
Construction and accessories
The heat pipes are integrated over a large area into the copper base plate, which results in increased heat transfer. The Brocken 4 Max also uses an asymmetrical cooling tower design, which means that the six nickel-plated heat pipes rise so high that the radiator is not exactly centered above the baseplate, but is slightly offset to the rear. An additional cutout ensures high compatibility with RAM components.
